Our COVID-19 Response & Update on our Partners
In this uncharted territory of the COVID-19 outbreak, we feel the pain of our community, our artisan partner groups, and our world. There's no doubt that we need to move forward with a clear focus while emboldening our mission.
We will continue to fulfill online orders at this time, implementing added safety precautions in our own fulfillment warehouse. Thank you for your patience as we take added care to ship your order, which may result in a slight delay.
Our Partners
Your support is crucial in this time when our artisan partner groups all over the world are reeling from this global pandemic. In the countries where we work, women are among the most vulnerable people in society, and artisans, crafters and hand workers are hit especially hard when an entire nation is under lockdown. With few ways to sell their wares locally, they rely on organizations like us all the more.
All our partner groups have stopped working to ensure the highest health and safety for each artisan and her family. So, why do we ask you to support fair trade in this time? Because our financial commitments are unwavering, and purchases are direct lifelines to continued support. Where retail companies around the world have closed their doors since the virus outbreak, leaving thousands of employees without work and wages, we have paid for all production that has been completed - even if it can't be shipped for many weeks - so that our network of partners can continue to earn a living when everything else comes to a halt.
So we ask for your continued support by:
- Treating yourself to handmade homewares or a felt flower bouquet to brighten your home
- Purchasing a gift set for a friend or family member
- Buying a gift card to use later
- Making a donation here
Our Fulfillment
Our warehouse in Queens, New York is currently being staffed by one dedicated team member, working by herself to ensure the lowest risk with others. She is handling all shipments with care; starting and ending her day cleaning and sanitizing her workspace and packing area, using gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectant thoroughly throughout the day.
Your Shipment
As with all packages received at this time, we recommend washing hands after unpacking, and discarding the outer packaging, whether a poly mailer or cardboard box. The CDC has stated that there is very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures.
As always, we are so thankful for your continued support. As part of the GGP community, you're bringing hope and lifting up women all over the world.
